Today we are celebrating the birthdays of Gillian Welch and Judee Sill. The former is a heralded queen of the new Americana, while the latter is a little known casualty of the Laurel Canyon generation. We kick off this episode, though, with a live version of the late Kris Kristofferson’s “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down,” recorded at RCA Studios in 1972.
