Tonight on Youth Beat Radio, Host Nishant Makhija talks to Tariq Tarey about the Somalian Documentary Project. Tariq is a film director and has worked extensively to tell the stories of Somalian refugees coming to the United States and to Columbus, Ohio. Later in the program Youth Beat Radio talks to students visiting from Montreal about their experience learning about the United States.

Youth Beat reporters gathered interesting and insightful perspectives on both Cuba and India. In the first segment a student talks about the positives and negatives she noticed while visiting Cuba, as well as her past experiences and plans for the future. Then, an Ohio State graduate student talks about the ways in which growing up in the Himalayas has shaped her views on global climate change, and what she thinks can be done in both the United States and India to improve the environment.

What do Imani Works, Girl Up, Octavia's Friends, and the Role Model Magazine have in common? They are all organizations in the Columbus area that work to promote positive images and life opportunities for girls and women, both locally and internationally.
