Modern Family is vying for a record-setting sixth Comedy Series Emmy, and standing in the way are (besides a lack of Writing and Directing nods for the five-time defending Comedy Champs) Veep (in a Presidential Election Cycle already forming) and the new kid on the online block, Transparent, with nine and 11 nominations, respectively.
